Chief Medical Officer, Michigan Primary Care Association
Dr. Faiyaz Syed is the chief medical officer for the Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA). In this role, he utilizes the requisite clinical experience and public health education to rely on, plan and accomplish the goals of the Michigan Primary Care Association.
Dr. Syed’s current responsibilities include directing the Michigan Quality Improvement Network and the Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) for Michigan.
Before joining MPCA, Dr. Syed gained multiple years of experience as a practicing physician. He is a strong advocate for public health policies and procedures in the fight against chronic diseases and prevention. He serves as a board member for MiHIN and the Michigan Oral Health Coalition. He is an active member of multiple leadership committees nationally and locally with a focus on clinical initiatives. Committee representations include the NACHC HCCN Task Force and Clinical Practice Committee, among many others.
Dr. Syed received his medical degree from Donetsk State Medical University and his master’s degree in public health from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He is a recipient of George Washington University’s Geiger Gibson Fellowship in Healthcare Policy and Leadership.
